The John Jeffries House, today, is a charming 46-room inn offering a variety of accommodations from inviting single rooms to spacious deluxe suites. The character of the turn-of-the-century building was carefully preserved during renovations in 1986 when the nurses' building of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, founded in 1824 by Dr. Jeffries and Dr. Edward Reynolds, was completely renovated and renamed "The John Jeffries House." The inn’s beautiful detailing – the flower garden, reproduction furnishings, original molding, hardwood floors, and period artwork – create a warm and welcoming ambience. From our historic Beacon Hill location you can walk to the Charles River, Boston Common, the Museum of Science, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, and the TD Banknorth Garden.
Most rooms include a kitchenette complete with refrigerator, stove, and microwave. We offer rates that are a refreshing alternative to those of Boston’s modern high-rise hotels.
