Massachusetts Winter
While Massachusetts does not have the large mountains that are found father north, the Berkshires and Central regions of the state have comfortably sized ski areas that are convenient for a day, or days, of skiing. Downhill skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing will be found at these areas. These are excellent places to take a family excursion to discover winter sports and have a few lessons.
Cross country skiing and snowshoeing can be done in Boston’s parks after a good snow and throughout the state in parks and at Nordic ski areas.
Full service lodgings along the coast have indoor pools, spa services and other activities all at great off-season rates. A weekend trip to Cape Cod or the North Shore is a great way to break out of winter doldrums.
Boston thrives in the winter with great culture activities and fine dining. The city is moving at full tilt and there is never a lack of things to see and do. Many hotels offer packages combining lodging with cultural events and dining.
