Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular 2017 - Boston and Cambridge, MA

Featured performers at the Boston Pops Spectacular in 2017 are Leslie Odom, Jr., of “Hamilton” fame, Andy Grammer, and Melissa Etheridge. Composer Alan Menken and lyricist Jack Feldman created a new work, "The Sum of Us," to premiere at the celebration. The fighter jet Military Flyover will open the evening's program, and a 20-minute fireworks show will bring the celebration to an end. Other performers are the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus and the Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes and Drums.
The orchestra performs from the Hatch band shell at the Oval on both July 3 and July 4. Fireworks follow the concert only on the night of July 4. Spectators can take seats on both sides of the Charles. The Esplanade concert area opens to the public at 9 a.m. If the fireworks are cancelled, they will be fired off over the Charles River on the next night that weather permits at 9:30 p.m.

Salem Celebrates the 4th 2017 - Salem, MA

Celebrate Independence Day in downtown Salem with live music, family programming, and a fireworks extravaganza. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with the opening of Kids’ Space, with fun activities for children. Annie Brobst, New England Country Music Award’s Female Artist of the Year, will perform at 5 p.m. Opening ceremonies are at 7:15 p.m., followed by a two hour pops concert by the Hillyer Festival Orchestra, performing opera to Broadway favorites. At 9:15 p.m. a magnificent fireworks display is launched from Derby Wharf accompanied by live music from the orchestra.

July 3. Souhegan High School. Tethered hot air balloon rides (6-8 p.m.; $7), face painting by Krickey the Clown, rides on the Roaming Railroad, a juggler, taiko drumming by ShinDaiko, and a concert by the Amherst Town Band. Fireworks at dusk. Start: 5:30 pm. Rain date for the fireworks is July 4 (cancellations will be posted on WMUR.com.
