Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket offer island delights: beaches, vistas, lighthouses

Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket – just a breezy ferry ride from Cape Cod – are alive in the imaginations of visitors as islands of friendly villages, beaches, stunningly beautiful vistas, all adding up to a getaway that seems almost like a dream. Great things to do on the islands including beach walks, lighthouse visits, shopping and dining, and more offbeat stuff like public dance session and beach yoga. The summer season is clock-full of events from the starting line of the Fourth of July and its parades and picnics through harvest season.
