Fairs & Festivals in Cape Cod & the Islands

The fabulous fairs and festivals brighten Cape Cod throughout the warm seasons. For example, Whale Week brings a bevy of nautical-themed events; and the Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival offers ten days of spectacular open gardens from Provincetown to Woods Hole. Provincetown will see some of its biggest events when Carnival week hits and thousands join the festivities. The Provincetown Jazz Festivals has a lineup of notables. Provincetown Portuguese Festival 2019

This weekend celebration is filled with traditional Portuguese dancing, music, and cuisine. This family-friendly festival features incredible food and entertainment and fun activities for adults and kids. Favorite events include the Fishermen’s Dinner, the Blessing of the Fleet, and the parade on Commercial Street. Highlights are the Portuguese Festival Parade on Saturday, 3-5 p.m., and the Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival 2019

The main feature of this 10-day festival is daily tours of private gardens across the Cape. Also, come enjoy workshops and lectures by leading horticulturalists; promotions at nurseries and home centers; class on hydrangea pruning; and painting demonstrationsin the gardens themselves. Garden tours are $5 per person per garden. You can pay cash at each garden on the day of the garden tour. Each garden is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and only on the days specified. Gardens' addresses will be announced a week before the festival. All garden tours are rain or shine and nonrefundable.
