Halloween Gala 2018 at Willowdale Estate

Enjoy a spooky and fun-filled evening at this decorated estate and tent with fellow ghouls and goblins. The costume theme is black and white. Enjoy the dark décor, delicious food, costumes, and dancing. This is one of the most popular Halloween parties on the North Shore. Each year has a new twist. A cash bar will be available.

Haunted Happenings 2018

Visitors can look forward to new Haunted Happenings events like the Great Salem Pumpkin Walk, Salem Fairy Fest, and Kids' Costume Party during Wicked Wednesdays, and The Spirits Speak, a magic and mentalism event. Returning favorites include the Food Truck Festival, the Grand Parade, Haunted Harmonies, and Howl-o-ween. A few highlights:

The Great Salem Pumpkin Walk on October 10, 4-8 p.m. Salem invites you to explore the historic and haunted downtown district for a special self-guided tour of pumpkin displays, activities, and entertainment.

Haunted Happenings Grand Parade on October 4 at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Salem. This year’s event will feature the theme “The Magic of Hocus Pocus.”

The Spirits Speak: Magic, Mediums, and Mentalism at Salem Regional Visitor Center, 2 New Liberty Street. Experience the mystery of Victorian spiritualism. $10-$20. Dates: October 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27. Check website for performance times.

Howl-O-Ween Parade on October 13 at 1 p.m. at Salem Maritime National Historic Site, 193 Derby Street. The event includes plenty of fun and games and a pet parade and costume contest with prizes.

Kids Costume Celebration on October 17, 4-7 p.m. Kids costume party, sing-along, and dance party. Meet at Riley Plaza, parade down Pedestrian Mall, party at the Fountain Stage.

Haunted Dinner Theater: “Shipwrecked!” at the Hawthorne Hotel, 18 Washington Square West. Salem’s most creative interactive performance with an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner. Several dates; consult website.

Salem Witches’ Magic Circle on October 31 at 5 p.m. Drumming by the Dragon Ritual Drummers as witches from around the globe gather for the sacred and magical ritual of Halloween!

Halloween Finale Fireworks on October 31 at 10:15 p.m. over the North River.

Family Adventure at The House of the Seven Gables (October 10, 17, 24) The House of the Seven Gables at 115 Derby Street presents a family navigation game on October 10, 17, 24. Halls of Darkness 2018 at Hammond Castle

Visitors must park at Stage Fort Park, and ride the free shuttle bus to the castle. Mr. Hammond’s surrounding himself with objects from antiquity, and felt a connection with the original owners or artisans. Guests invited to the castle in October were never quite sure what Hammond had in store for them, especially after the sun set.Dates: October 12-13, 19-20, and 26-27, 2018
