Historic inn, which opened its doors in 1771, creates warm, home-away-from-home vibe

At the Publick House Historic Inn, they have prided themselves on creating a warm, home-away-from-home atmosphere for travelers since 1771. Today, guests can choose from a variety of rooms, including historic inn rooms with antiques and period reproductions; Tillyer House rooms close to the fitness room, spa and large sitting area; Chamberlain House rooms perfect for wedding and other groups; and standard hotel rooms in the Country Motor Lodge nestled in an apple orchard. Several rooms are pet friendly. Inn amenities include an outdoor pool, gorgeous grounds, a classic New England Bake Shoppe and two dining areas with 18th-century ambiance: the Historic Tap Room featuring hearty Yankee fare and Ebenezer’s Tavern, with comfortable couches by the fireplace and serving everything from jumbo crab cakes to shepherd’s pie.
