Plenty to see and do on the Cape, the Vineyard – and the decks of this ferry
There’s so much to see on the Cape and Martha’s Vineyard, and what better way to enjoy both locations than a trip aboard the Island Queen passenger ferry. The 35 minute sailing to the island starts in Falmouth, where parking is only 200 yards from the dock. Check out this quintessential Cape village’s shops, restaurants, museums, beaches and bike trails. Hop on the ferry (bring your bike or paddle board) and enjoy the breathtaking views of Vineyard Sound. When you dock in Oak Bluffs, check out the town’s “Flying Horses” carousel and gingerbread-house Campground, or head to the red-clay cliffs of Aquinnah or the myriad shops and restaurants in walkable Edgartown. Or, buy a sightseeing-tour ticket that includes a narrated tour of the island.
