The USS Constitution – “Old Ironsides” – the oldest active ship in the U.S. Navy and the world’s oldest commissioned warship still afloat, resides at the Charlestown Navy Yard, next to the property of the USS Constitution Museum. The museum presents a fascinating history of the ship and many interesting exhibits about life in the U.S. Navy, from Colonial times to the present. The museum hosts many special events, and it is designed to be fun and welcoming to children. Tours of the
ship itself are hosted by Navy personnel on a regular schedule. The tours include the spar deck, gun deck and berth deck.
Hours: Museum is open daily 10am - 5pm except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. The Ship is open for tours Tuesday to Sunday, 10am - 6pm, and is closed Mondays, MLK Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
