This majestic offering matches ferocity with tenderness, boldness with beauty, promising goosebumps from start to finish.

Chameleon Arts Ensemble presents "Shadows, Canons, Veils" – Boston MA

Apr 20, 2024 - Apr 20, 2024 First Church in Boston, 66 Marlborough Street Boston, MA 02116

Chameleon Arts Ensemble presents an electrifying chamber music program at intersection of past and present. Beethoven breaks free from his classical roots with his quintet for piano and winds, while Serge Arcuri animates fantastical scenes from Medieval manuscripts in Les Furieuses enluminures. Rebecca Clarke plays hide and seek with quixotic clouds in her Midsummer Moon for violin and piano, and Thomas Adès unveils Couperin’s Les baricades mistérieuses for the 21st century with a shimmering, kaleidoscopic trompe l’oeil. Shostakovich, too, looks to the past, bringing Baroque grandeur to his striking Piano Quintet, as shadows of history give way to the future.

It faced, or seemed to face, the whole external world for an instant and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor.” Adapted and directed by Kelvin Grullon. We're on the road while the Zeiterion undergoes a major renovation and restoration! This performance will be at UMass Dartmouth, Main Auditorium, 285 Westport Road, North Dartmouth.
