Challenging 18-hole course, breathtaking views at this Berkshire resort
There are golf courses with lovely interiors, and courses with lovely exteriors. The 18-hole course at Cranwell Resort has both. The historic course, built by Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek in 1926, features tree-lined fairways and naturally contoured greens, as well as a 10-acre driving range, two practice putting greens; and a practice area for pitching, chipping and bunker shots. And those views: The spectacular Berkshires surround you as you golf and then as you adjourn to the resort’s Sloane’s Tavern for a post-round cocktail on the deck overlooking the course. The resort course also offers a variety of lessons, clinics, junior-golfer programs and, from May through August, two-day golf schools.
